Shah Alam, 24 June 2025 – A distinguished dinner reception was held tonight at the Official Residence of the Selangor Chief Minister in conjunction with the MADANI South East Asia Leadership Programme (MSEALP) 2025, organised by WADAH Malaysia. The event brought together delegations representing Islamic organisations and associations from eight ASEAN countries: Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, and Timor-Leste.
The evening commenced at 8:00 PM with the arrival of invited guests, followed by a welcoming address by the Master of Ceremonies. This was followed by a keynote speech by Mr. Azizuddin Ahmad, Chairman of the MADANI South East Asia Leadership Programme (MSEALP).
The highlight of the night was the speech by the Chief Minister of Selangor, The Right Honourable Dato’ Seri Amirudin Bin Shari, who stressed that Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025 is a pivotal opportunity to advance the ASEAN Community Vision. He further affirmed that Selangor, as a vital contributor to Malaysia’s economy and a central hub of trade and industry, plays a strategic role in this collective regional effort.
“Selangor is proud not only to host this evening’s gathering but also to serve as a long-term partner in building a strong and forward-looking ASEAN. May this gathering continue to strengthen ties across borders, beliefs, and generations,” he remarked.
The evening proceeded with a prayer recitation and dinner, followed by the presentation of souvenirs, a photography session, and informal networking among participants.
The week-long MSEALP 2025 programme aims to foster a regional Islamic leadership network grounded in MADANI values, inclusivity, justice, and shared development.
